Welcome to

Jackson Hole Horse Rescue

The oldest Horse Rescue in Wyoming

This site is for individuals who have a desire to learn about and then help unwanted, abused, neglected and elderly horses find peace and safety in a caring home. Some will live out their lives at this rescue facility, finding dignity and security. Others will be healed or rehabilitated to find a forever home.

Built on Years of Local Rescue and Real Impact

When you’re looking for a way to help, you want to know your time or donation is going somewhere real—like helping horses. Jackson Hole Horse Rescue has been caring for horses since 2008, rescuing more than 250 horses and supporting 34 currently in care today.

Jackson Hole Horse Rescue is located on a private 260 acre ranch just west of the Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Airport. The property adjoins Grand Teton National Park. The owner of the Ranch graciously provides 40 acres of irrigated pasture for the Horse Rescue in exchange for us taking his family and friends riding when they come. It is a win-win situation.

Jackson Hole Horse Rescue is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, therefore your donation is tax deductible. Our Tax ID is #26-3534202 Our Wyoming Nonprofit Corporation ID number is 2008-000561283.

We could not do our work without our dedicated, hard-working and compassionate volunteers

Rescue & Intake

When a horse is unwanted, neglected, or at risk, knowing who to call can feel overwhelming. This program provides a clear, responsible path to safety and immediate care.

Rehabilitation & Vet Care

Many rescued horses need ongoing medical attention, which can feel like a major unknown. Structured care, including veterinary support and farrier work, helps each horse recover and stabilize.

Adoption, Fostering, and Sponsorship

You want to help, but the right path depends on your situation. Whether you’re ready to adopt, open your space for fostering, or support a specific horse through sponsorship, each option gives you a clear, meaningful way to make a difference.
